New In #1 | Duty Free Purchases

Hello there!

I have been rather quiet because I'm currently busy soaking up the beauty that Budapest, the capital city of Hungary has to offer. I promise I will write a more detailed post on my experience. In the meantime let me share with you what caught my eyes at the airport.

Duty free shops are evil! More like I don't have self control. Having said that I manage to save 20% on these products as they are duty free.

Home Spa Day

The weather outside is rather gloomy and the temperature has plummeted too (in comparison to the short sunny spell we had last week). After my Sunday run this morning (ahem!), I thought I'd stay in for the rest of the day. It's just too cold outside and I know myself too well - I'll end up shopping whenever I go out!

I usually do my weekly face/hair treatment in the evening, but after lunch today, I thought why not get it out of the way. I am after all not doing very much at home.

These are for my hair and facial treatment.

Perfume Collection

I don't have a very big perfume collection. I prefer to have signature scent. Having said that I do occasionally like to rotate the perfume I use.

Facial Oil - Yay or Nay?

Many years ago, if someone suggested that I lather my face with oil, I would think the person is a nutter. After all, I grew up with very active oil glands so I doubt that my face need any more oil than what it was already producing.

However, oil facial cleanser is taking the beauty world by a storm in the last few years. As I grow older my oil glands have calmed down quite a bit. I used to have oily skin but now I have combination skin - normal on the cheeks and slightly oily on the T-zone.

The first facial oil cleanser I tried was by Shue Uemura. I didn't plan to buy it but the Sales Assistant did a great job at convincing me (honestly, it's not that of a difficult job to convince me as I am a sucker for beauty products and always willing to try new items).

They do have a range of facial oil cleanser depending on your skin type and needs as you can see in the picture below. I initially tried the one that comes in the green bottle (to make the skin radiant and feel more refined) and because I really like the it, I bought a second bottle, but I felt that I should try a different range, so I tried the one in the orange bottle (ultime8 sublime which is their most advanced product from the range). I have just finished using my second bottle.

I find using oil to remove make up is more effective that using foam facial cleanser. The oil removes every trace of make up, even the strongest and darkest coloured eye liner and mascara, without making the skin dry. I certainly did not feel my skin feeling tight which I usually feel when I wash my face with a foaming cleanser. Another bonus point is that it is easy to use - just apply the oil onto dry skin, massage the skin gently and wash off with water and TADAAA you now have a clean face!

I'm still continuing my journey of using facial oil, and I am currently trying out the facial oil from Clinique, which I have only started using two days ago.

In conclusion, facial oil cleanser is definitely a yay for me. What about you? Any thoughts?

Madam Butterfly

It was my very first experience watching an opera. I am glad I gave it a try because I truly enjoyed the experience.

The Royal Albert Hall looked massively different after it was transformed into an enchanting water garden.

Miss Saigon, West End London

Miss Saigon

Miss Saigon was the last West End show that I watched in 2014.

It was the most emotions invoking show that I have ever seen thus far.

It is a war-love story, between a young, orphan Vietnamese girl and an American soldier. Their lives were separated by the fall of Saigon and the ending was tragic.

At the time of writing, the show is still showing at the Prince Albert Theatre, London. If you haven't seen it, I'd recommend that you do while it is still showing.

Kurt Geiger Sophie Ankle Boots

I have been on the hunt for a pair of ankle boots for as long a I remember. My main criteria was to find a pair that is comfortable enough to be a part of my daily staple during the cold winter months. The secondary criteria is that the pair can be worn both casually and formally with my work attire.

While doing my research, I stumbled upon these pair by chance, through an online website.

They look like a decent pair so I decided to check them out in store. The heels are just about the right height and size to provide stability for walking. Design wise, there is a zip on the side for easy access. The gold buckle provides just enough detailing for a chic look, without screaming for too much attention.

When I tried them on, they fit like a glove. I haven't had the opportunity to take any photos of me wearing them but suffice to say, these have been my go to boots  almost on a daily basis now.

Best Day Ever!

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of attending a wedding in Melbourne. It was the most perfect wedding I've attended in a long time. Everything was immaculately planned and executed.

The day started with a church ceremony and ended with a dinner reception at St. Kilda Beach.

To Tien and Steve, thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your special day. It will remain as one of my best memories of Melbourne. x
