Another Age Milestone Unlocked!

My birthday this year fell on Saturday. It was the one that just past. Definitely a year older, hopefully slightly wiser too?

On the day itself, I had a bit of reflection and here are the top ten things that came to my mind.

I thought it would be useful to capture these here and to share them with you. After all, we do occasionally need the reminder especially when we are too busy speeding on the fast lane.

1. We tend to put a number to everything - age, weight, size, etc. Forget the numbers. Life is meant to be lived so make the most of it.

2. Regardless of age, we should always strive to be better than we were yesterday.

3. Strive for progress instead of perfection. Remember, standing is better than sitting; walking is better than standing; running is better than walking. As long as you're moving forward and progressing, you are doing better than before.

4. Stop comparing ourselves to others. The thing about life is, everyone wants to copy one another, without realising that each of us has a different exam question. Our life journey is unique to ourselves.

5. Focus on what we have instead of what we don't have. We'll realise that we have more than what we need.

6. Create memories so one day when we look back we can say, 'Damn! That was amazing.'

7. We are in charge of our happiness. After all, happiness comes from within, not without.

8. Invest in yourself. Read books. Acquire new skills. Sign up for classes. Do something that you've always wanted to do. It is better to have tried something and realise that it is not for you than to look back, have regrets and to ponder on the 'what if'.

9. Learn and apply financial management. It's never too early to start a savings account. But it is also important to have the occasional splurge.

10. And finally, given this is a birthday post, I had to cheekily put in here. It's never too early to start and stick to a skincare routine. You can't stop the aging process, but you can certainly delay looking aged.
