The Ordinary Products I Am Trying Out

If you haven't heard of the brand The Ordinary, I don't know where have you been and what have you been up to.

The Ordinary is one of the brands under the umbrella company, DECIEM. They pride themselves as a company that offers clinical formulations with integrity. At the time of writing, there are currently more than 20 skincare products offered by the brand. These include acids, vitamins, retinods, hydrators and oils which are essential as part of a regimented skincare but are often hidden in the small prints of the ingredients list of the packaging of our skincare products. And this is the key differentiator of The Ordinary as a brand. They stripped back all the unnecessary marketing packaging, and focus on the products itself.

As a self-confessed skincare lover, it is hard to miss that almost everyone in the beauty industry is talking about this affordable and accessible skincare. So I decided to jump onto the bandwagon and see for myself what the fuss is about.

When choosing the products, I was this close to adding everything into my shopping basket when I was placing the order but I decided to only order products that could benefit my skin.

The two that I purchased were the Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA and  the Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10% .

The Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA is aimed to keep the outer layer of the skin hydrated and this is one of the skin concerns that I would like to address. Its consistency is slightly thicker than the Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme + Global Anti-Aging creme which is a cult product in my skincare routine. Having said that I am rather excited to give the Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA a try.

The Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10% is a brightening hydrator with stabilised vitamin C derivative. As I often love how my skin glows after a Vitamin C facial treatment, I thought it is about time that I incorporate some vitamin C elements in my daily skincare routine. The formula can be applied twice a day, in the morning and at night, but I tend to use this as part of my night routine only. I really like that it applies matte onto the skin and does not leave any greasy residue. My skin definitely looks brighter the following day, and this is especially more apparent since my return from Florence, where the temperature hit more than 32 degrees C on some days and I returned to London with a slight tan.

Having tried these products, loving them and noticing the difference they've made, I now have other items that I would like to try in the near future. The two in particular are the Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%, and Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. But as I go through the products list, I feel like trying everything that helps with hydration, brightening and anti-aging! My bank account may not approve this new relationship but I guess, it's not a bad relationship given their price point lean towards the more affordable range.

What about you? Have you tried any products from The Ordinary? Do share and let me know which one you love the most so I can check them out too. x
