Wardrobe Update - What I Bought Recently

Come to think of it, it has been a while since I last do proper clothes shopping. Since I have become better at decluttering, and only buying key pieces that work for my body shape, style and lifestyle, I no longer feel the urge to always buy, buy and buy.

Having said that, in the last few weeks, there have been many pieces from the high street stores that caught my eyes and I decided to treat myself and get a few new pieces in.

So today I thought I'd share the pieces that I recently purchased as I often find this type of post enjoyable to read.

The first time I saw this outfit, I was immediately drawn to it, thinking it was a dress, but they are actually two separate pieces. While I ended up purchasing both pieces, I've yet to wear them together. I have worn both pieces to work on two separate occasions - I paired the printed blouse with a simple pencil skirt and the skirt with a simple black turtleneck top.

At the time of writing this post, I am awaiting the arrival of this blazer. I absolutely love a classic and simple cut blazer. I find it is such a simple way of elevating a look - a pair of dark wash jeans, a top and a blazer is such a classic and timeless combination.

I seem to be drawn to maxi dresses this season and have gone to two extremes of the colour spectrum. This grey dress from Zara and a very bright pink dress from COS are my new favourite. As the temperature is rather warm still for the month of October in London, I don't feel the urgency to put the pink dress away along with all my summer dresses.
