Hello 2019!

Hello 2019!

Hi!

It feels so good to be back here again, after taking a break for a few weeks.

I hope you all have had a great start to 2019, feeling afresh, rejuvenated, energetic and full of excitement for the year ahead!

If for whatever reason the start of 2019 hasn't been particularly kind to you, I hope that the less than positive start is only temporary and the negative vibes will past very soon. I will keep my fingers crossed and wish you the best for the rest of 2019.

The start of 2019 has been kind to me and the pace has been just about right for me to gently ease into the new year.

I may not have mentioned it here, but I was away from Christmas until about 1.5 weeks ago. While I knew that I was going to be off work between Christmas and New Year (my last working day was the Friday before Christmas), I had planned on staying in the UK and I was looking forward to embracing London like a ghost town - which also happens to be one of my favourite times to be in London! Alas, the universe had other plans for me.

I had some personal matters to be dealt with in Malaysia (nothing bad, it's all good!) and it was two weeks before Christmas when it was confirmed that everything was ready for me to sign and ideally I should sign it before the last day of 2018. As a true Type A personality, I have hardly ever purchased flight tickets (or any tickets for that matter) at such a short notice so booking the flight ticket at such late notice was new territory for me. Having said that, it felt really liberating to have done it, and who knows this year I may start to embrace the spontaneity in me (as if!).

The business agenda only took me about two hours of my time there. For the remaining of the time I was in Malaysia, I simply relaxed and spent time with my family and friends, which is always always amazing and something that I am truly grateful for, especially I now live thousands of miles away from them.

So what's in store for 2019?

~ Honour the past, move forward and dreams without boundaries ~

That's my mantra there for 2019 :)

Hello 2019!

So far it hasn't been bad at all (fingers crossed).

I worked from home on the first day of returning to work as I had landed in Heathrow at 5am earlier that day. It was mid-week so before I know it, the weekend was here.

My jet lag disappeared after 3 days. Hooray!

I have since returned to my weekly Pilates and boot camp sessions, attended a networking event, not to mentioned, finally get to watch Hamilton, after securing the tickets 6-months ago! It was so good, the cast was very passionately talented and it definitely surpassed all the expectations I had!

I had finished reading, The Banker's Wife, which I truly enjoyed and highly recommend! I started and finished the book on the same day. It was a page-turner, highly gripping and impossible to put down. I think the next book I'll read will be 'Becoming' by Michelle Obama and I can't wait to get stuck in.

Last week was my first full working week, and oh boy, it definitely felt long!

This weekend I spent some time organising and planning for the year ahead. I had reviewed my financial statements from 2018 and prepared my tax return. I certainly will be making tweaks on how and where I spend my money this year. I often find that it's not the big expenditure that often breaks the bank as they are typically accounted for and thought through (at least that's my approach to spending!) but those small tiny leakages here and there that could hinder us from achieving our savings target. All those money spent on fancy coffees, breakfast toasts almost equal to the price of 3/4 of a loaf of bread, and lazy days Deliveroo dinners).

I have also brainstormed ideas for the blog and realised that I have a few travel posts waiting to be written, having set up my BuJo for 2019.

After years of collecting prints, I also decided it's time that I get my act together to get them framed. I had two done this weekend and the rests require custom-sized frames to be ordered.

Last but not least, I've booked a short weekend trip to Paris. It'll be the first trip for 2019 and I am so excited because the last time I was there was back in 2010!

So yeah, as I've said, it hasn't been a bad start at all. 2019 - let's do this! x
