Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams Exhibition at the V&A London

Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams Exhibition

Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams Exhibition has arrived at the V&A. It is the largest exhibition to be put on by the Museum since Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty.

The Exhibition looks at the fantastic archives of the House of Dior, not only from Monsieur Dior himself but also the Creative Designers who took the helm of the House over the 71 years of its history.

I feel truly honoured to have been invited by the Dior team to the Preview and Cocktail Party before the Exhibition was opened to the public.

A key distinctive factor that should not be overlooked or taken for granted about the Exhibition is that it is all haute couture which means every piece of items being exhibited is made by hand. With over 500 objects on display, there are so much finest quality exceptional craftsmanships in one place.

Every one of the 11 galleries showcases its own wow factor and extraordinary pieces being displayed. Whether it is the re-creation of the facade of 30 Avenue Montaigne - where the House started - in the first room, the gown specifically made for and worn by Princess Margarate on her 21st birthday, the Atelier room, a floor to ceiling display of toiles or concept garments, or the Ballroom, I was truly mesmerised throughout.

The Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams Exhibition is currently on at the Victoria & Albert Museum and will run until the 14th of July. It is without a doubt well-worth a visit.

Update: Since publication, the Exhibition has been extended to run until 1 September 2019.
